<image:caption>For some children, the best setting for therapy might be in their preschool, daycare, or private school. Under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, our Registered Behavior Technicians can take the role of a facilitator to work on social interactions and following a classroom schedule. If appropriate, our ABA teams can also allocate time providing direct 1:1 ABA therapy within school facilitation sessions. Please check with your child’s school and BCBA to see if this is the best therapy approach for your child.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Heather is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst who began working at Applied Behavioral Consulting in May 2025. An Athens native and proud “Double Dawg,” Heather earned her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science in 2013 and her Master’s degree in Special Education (Adapted Curriculum) in 2017 from the University of Georgia. Originally on the path to becoming a physical therapist, Heather’s career direction shifted after a study abroad experience in Ireland. While working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, she discovered her true passion. Upon returning, she completed her undergraduate degree but continued seeking opportunities to serve individuals with special needs. Heather went on to work as a paraprofessional and then as a special education teacher while completing her graduate studies. After finishing her Master’s program while teaching in an intensive ABA classroom, she became certified as a BCBA in 2019. Since 2012, Heather has worked in a wide range of educational, community, and clinical settings, supporting individuals from early childhood to young adulthood with diverse abilities and diagnoses. Over the years, she has served in many roles, including caregiver, camp counselor, paraprofessional, special education teacher, autism specialist, behavior specialist, and BCBA, which have given her a well-rounded perspective on the needs of children and families. Heather is especially passionate about Functional Communication Training and empowering learners to advocate for themselves. Whether through verbalizations, gestures, sign language, picture cards, or AAC devices, she believes that every voice deserves to be heard. She is also deeply committed to trauma-informed, assent-based, and neurodiversity-affirming practices. Heather values collaboration with the individual, their families, other providers or stakeholders, and her colleagues to ensure each client’s program is individualized, holistic, and socially meaningful for both the child and their family.</image:caption>

With intentions to attend medical school, she gained clinical experience primarily as a Clinical Research Coordinator and was most passionate about facilitating one on one care with patients going through research trials. Jillian also gained experience working with children as a Preschool Dance Teacher. She decided to join the field of ABA when a friend suggested combining both experiences as an RBT. Since starting, she feels very passionate about facilitating in depth and long term care for children with ASD.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Madeleine holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Statistics from the University of Georgia. She began working at the Marcus Autism Center’s Multidisciplinary Feeding Program in 2019, where she discovered her passion for ABA and supporting children with complex disabilities. She later earned a Masters of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis from Georgia State University in 2023. While at Georgia State, Madeleine participated in the Project Behavioral and Early Education Scholars (BEES) federal grant program, where she gained specialized training in addressing the academic, behavioral, and communication needs of young children requiring significant support, as well as collaborating with school systems and special education teams. Madeleine became a BCBA in 2024. She specializes in early intervention for children ages 1–6 and has additional experience working with children and adolescents up to age 18. She is particularly passionate about Functional Communication Training. Whether through PECS, an AAC device, gestures, or vocal communication, one of Madeleine’s favorite parts of the job is seeing communication “click” for her learners and their families. She is committed to trauma-informed and assent-based practices and dedicated to making a lasting impact in the lives of each of her clients and their families..</image:caption>
